Where do we start?
Apathy seems to be a good place.
Do nothing, say nothing and be nothing. Walk the line and conform. Do as I say, not as I do. Do not try to set an example.
Anti-war does not mean pro-terrorist. Anti-church does not mean ... alot of things.
Why is it that as a society we can talk but, we are not allowed to speak our mind? We can voice our opinion in the quiet and the comfort of our home. We can voice our opinion to each other, as long as it does not conflict with political agenda.
Designated protest areas. Police presence to protect the public and the officials. So they say.
Laws are in place to protect people from themselves. There is no accountability for ones own actions. You can not take the law into your own hands. You don't have the mental capacity to do so. You are not intelligent enough to determine right and wrong. You need to be told. And yet the laws tend to outline the rights of the criminals and does nothing for the victim. As a victim, you are not guilty. You are insignificant. You are there to assist the prosecution for an action against another person or thing. Whether you were the victim or a witness. The consequences for being the victim or witness can be as detrimental as are for the criminal. Major difference being, after the system is done with the victim or witness, they are back to paying taxes and providing for themselves at their own expense. Essentially paying for their own protection and by keeping the criminal alive and well fed. Anyone who has had the misfortune of being involved in the criminal justice system can attest that the system is as problematic as the individuals that make up the reason for it.
Ultimately. People should be accountable for their actions. Whether they are intoxicated or otherwise. There is seemingly an ability to plea bargain by pleading guilty to a lesser charge for a shorter sentence. How does this benefit anybody except the criminal? The victim gets to see the offender again sooner than later. The bleeding hearts of society need to realize that their armchair activism and protection of human rights is far too general. Criminals should have some rights, but they should also have limited rights. It would appear that the guilty have more rights than their victims.
The time for change is long overdue. Sit back, relax and watch as your vote determines very little for democratic change. Be aware of what you hear and see.
Ask the questions. Question the answer.
